Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any additional questions about Central Global Vision Fund or the missions we support, please contact us.
What areas do you serve?
Central Global Vision Fund currently contributes to faith-based eye care ministries in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe. If a need were to arise elsewhere in Africa or in another other part of the world and was vetted by the board, it may be considered for funding.
How are needs identified?
Central Global Vision Fund’s mission and passion is to support the eye-care needs of people in undeveloped areas. In order to do so, we are very careful in our fund allocation so that donations can be used most wisely and effectively. Before any purchase or monetary allocation, our board thoroughly vets the request in order to understand the need at the various facilities we support. Our board members stay in close contact with the facilities we support, so we are constantly aware of the most urgent needs in any location.
Does CGVF provide doctors and nurses to the facilities it supports?
Central Global Vision Fund does not provide the doctors or other aid workers. CGVF helps fund urgent an important projects to enable these eye care ministries to do their work. We do this with the help of generous donors just like you.
The Christian Blind Mission (CBM) currently provides staff ophthalmologists and professional training for support staff at the Kissy Eye Hospital in Sierra Leone.
How can I support CGVF?
As with all mission efforts in developing countries, funding for these important ministries is the primary need. Gifts to help defray the cost of shipping, building materials, and medical supplies are deeply appreciated.
Financial donations can be made online, by mail, or through the Advance Special of the United Methodist Church. In-kind donations of ophthalmologic equipment, medications, and medical supplies are also appreciated.
What percentage of donations are used to support the mission?
100% of donated funds go directly to support the mission of providing quality eye care to those in need. At Central Global Vision Fund, none of our board members take a salary.
Are donations tax deductible?
Yes! Central Global Vision Fund is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and, under the United States tax code, your financial gifts are fully tax deductible. After you make a contribution, you will receive a receipt you can use for tax purposes.
In most cases, medical equipment donations are also tax deductible. Please feel free to contact us for more details.
